Google Adsense is a contextual advertising program developed by google.Contextual program means the advertisements which will be served on websites(which use google adsense) will be related to the content of the website.Due to this,the probability of visitors clicking on the advertisements increases tremendously.For example,if you have a website related to latest software reviews,then the advertisements served on your website will be related to latest softwares.
So what is the role of google in this?......Google acts as a mediator in between the publisher(in this case you,on whose website the advertisements are shown) and the advertiser(the website owner who wants to put advertisements about his website).It saves publisher the time and energy to find right advertiser for his website.Similarly,the advertiser gets right platform to promote his website(s).Thus,google saves time and energy for both and takes a portion of the advertising cost which is spent by the advertiser.What share is taken by google is not known.Google Adsense is one of the best money making sources for Google.
